Virtual/Phone

Virtual/Phone

Personal income tax support, wherever you’re at.

Canada Revenue Agency has allowed the use of virtual tools like phones and video calls to assist organizations in preparing income tax returns for their clients through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Our Over-the-Phone virtual tax preparation service will use phone calls to help get your taxes done.

If you are eligible for having your taxes filed through the CVITP and have access to a phone, then this is a great option for you.

We're here to help you file your taxes on the phone or virtually.

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

If you leave us a voicemail, we’ll return your call within 10 business days. You can also book an appointment online to guarantee a call back on a certain day.

How it Works

After your screening call prepare your information for us.

Getting Prepared

Your screening call will help to make sure you know what information is required, but in general you should know:

  • Your name as it is on file with Canada Revenue Agency

  • Your Social Insurance Number (SIN)

  • Your date of birth

  • If you have any children under 18 who live with you or infirm adults in your care, know their name, date of birth, SIN, and net income

  • Your sources of income, especially any casual labour or tips that you didn’t get a T-slip for

  • Eligible medical expenses (you can request a printout from your pharmacy!)

  • Charitable donations

  • Rent or property tax info

If you are married or in a common-law relationship, your partner should also be present so that your returns can be filed together, ensuring correct benefit calculations.
