We offer a rewarding volunteer opportunity helping people with low income and simple tax situations file their income tax returns in a supportive, team-based environment.
Community Financial, in partnership with the Canada Revenue Agency, runs free Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) clinics for individuals with low to modest incomes. Volunteers interview clients, prepare tax returns, and help identify benefit eligibility. No tax experience is required—we provide comprehensive training, mentoring, and support.
As a volunteer, you’ll learn how to file simple Canadian tax returns, assess Manitoba and federal benefit eligibility, build customer service skills, and earn a certificate of completion in a welcoming program open to people of all backgrounds.
